unFORTUNEate Person of the Day 5/18/09

Hip-Hop Artist Yung Joc is suing Bad Boy Records and Block Entertainment after alleging that both parties failed to fufill contract obligations. Joc reported that Bad Boy and Block Entertainment neglected to pay royalties and advances for his previous two albums, and charging him outrageous clearance fees for collaborations with other artists. According to Joc, he hasn't been paid royalties since he came out. Yung Joc told Billboard.com. “For my first album, they gave me a $25,000 advance when I was supposed to get more...Then I had a million dollar budget for my second album, never even got an advance off of it. For the third one they hit me with another $25,000, like I'm some chump in this shit. And I just got tired of it.” Joc reported that he is currently looking for an Indie promoter to get his records off, but in the mean time he will be in court fighting for his claim to millions.
