FORTUNEate Person of the Day 5/14/09

Hip-Hop Artist T.I and Reverend Al Sharpton, joined an array of celebrities earlier this week in Harlem to march against gun violence. T.I and the Rev. Al Sharpton honored the memory of 13-year-old Christopher Owen and 17-year-old Cory Squires, who were both recently gunned down in New York City.

Although T.I has been sentenced for his October 2007 arrest for possession of machine guns and silencers from arms dealers who turned out to be undercover federal agents, T.I. has publicly expressed that his actions were unnecessary and yet volatile for youth that look up to him. T.I. is set to begin a year-long federal prison stint next week, but he has urged city teens not follow in his footsteps.

Fortune Infinite would like to give a shot out to T.I and his family. Hold ya head in the Feds brother. We recognize the steps you have taken to rechannel the youth and it's honored deeply!!! We all make mistakes, its how you respond to them that shows your character.

unFORTUNEate Person of the Day 5/14/09

Boston College star Linebacker, and Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Year Mark Herzlich, announced today May 14, 2009 that he has been diagnosed with cancer. Herzlich was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma earlier this week. Herzlich had decided to stay at BC for his senior year rather than jump to the NFL. Herzlich reported that he will focus his attention from football to one of his "toughest opponent yet". We at Fotune Infinite would like to send our prayers and blessings to Mark Herzlich, and his friends and family.
